City Harvest Food Drive, November 16-December 16.

Pacific Standard is pleased to announce that we'll be participating in City Harvest's food drive. Starting today and running through December 16 or whenever we reach 100 pounds of food, bring your non-perishable food items to the bar and we'll donate them to City Harvest. The basics on the drive and what items are most needed:

With the support of generous New Yorkers, City Harvest will rescue and deliver over 42 million pounds of food this year. Food drives keep our trucks stocked, helping to feed the more than 1 million New Yorkers who face hunger each year.

Most needed foods: Canned fruit, canned vegetables, peanut butter (plastic jars), mac and cheese (packaged), hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)

More information about what to donate can be found here:

We feel like an anorexic saying this, but let's get to 100 pounds by December 16th!

Barclays Special!

We're introducing a new deal for people going to Barclays Center events: on those nights, come into the bar before the event and mention you want the "Barclays special." It's a bottled beer (Miller Lite or Bud Lite are currently in stock; our specialty bottles are off-limits, sorry) and a shot of your choice from our well selection for only $7.

Our non-marathon marathon Sunday.

Since the NYC Marathon isn't going to happen Sunday, we figured we should party it up for charities to make up the difference. Here's our hurricane relief effort:

--We will open at noon as usual.

--$1 for each drink we sell goes to the Red Hook Initiative, who are helping one of the best neighborhoods in NYC recover from the impact of the hurricane. http://www.rhicenter.org/

--We are still going to run a grill outside; any tips go to the Red Hook Initiative.

--We'll have our famous Bloody Marys for $7 a pint (with, again, $1 per drink going to RHI).

So let's pretend like the marathon is happening and perhaps run around the block, person by person. With donations!
